I promise, any time now I’m gonna get back to serious webcomicking on Gate Crash, but I just had too much fun playing with the possibilities of my new layout just this once more. The idea is to use foreground and background in ways that they look equally good, but always different, depending on your browser window.
The sketches I used for this image were spontaneous instant sketches I made at a con once. I’d scribble a few lines, and as soon as they looked like something, I’d draw that.
Remember when I first launched the.dreadfulgate.de with the plan to have a sketch each week, in addition to the two comics? This technique would have come in handy back then…
